Tangled Lines
Wavy lines cross and re-cross the page. Trace each one to see where it ends up.
Every line starts at a letter and wanders across the page, crossing the others several times on the way. The child follows one line with a finger, then a pencil, and finds what is waiting at the other end. It is a gentler kind of maze — nothing to get stuck in, just eyes and a fingertip — and it is the standard exercise for visual tracking, the skill a child needs to keep their place along a line of text. Lines never run together or cross twice in the same stretch, so a careful child always gets the right answer.
