Opposite Directions
Two tracks, one hand on each: one goes up while the other comes down, at the same time.
Two tracks side by side, one for each hand, travelled at the same time in opposite directions: one hand goes up the page while the other comes down. Hands like to copy each other, so this asks each one to do its own job. The pairs swap down the page, left up and right down, then left down and right up, so the child cannot settle into one way. Big arrows beside each track, and a dot and a hand at each start, show which way each hand goes. Choose straight tracks to begin with, then wavy ones, zigzags, or ladders to climb rung by rung with a finger.
