Compass Directions
Label a compass rose, follow routes on a grid by the points of the compass, and say what lies in each direction.
Three pages for learning the points of the compass. The compass rose has a box at every tip: north is given and the child writes the rest, with the book's own letters (N S E O in Portugal, N S L O in Brazil, N S O W in Germany). On the grid page a start and some pictures stand on squares, and each route is a short list of moves such as "Go 3 squares north.": the child draws it and writes the picture it ends on, or, in the other version, writes the moves for a route that is drawn. The third page puts a picture in the middle with one in every direction. Routes are worked out so every answer is certain, and the answer key draws them.
