Tracing & Writing

Handwriting Lines

Your own words on handwriting rules: a model to copy, or faint text to trace.

Type anything and it is laid out on ruled lines. On its own it prints once at the top as a model with empty lines underneath to copy it onto; turn tracing on and the same words repeat faintly on every line for a child who is not ready to copy from a model yet. Leave the text empty and the page is simply handwriting paper. There are rules for a child learning letter heights, one who only needs a baseline and a midline, and one who is past both; also two lines, four lines with a shaded band, or Seyès; in print, school cursive or capitals. The size sets how tall a line is, except on a page of two or three lines, where the writing is allowed to grow so the lines are not marooned in a sheet of white.
