Phonics Check Practice

Practice for England's Year 1 Phonics Screening Check. Each page shows four words in a large clear font (or ten, to fit a whole section on two pages): real words, and pseudo-words with a small alien beside them, so the child knows to sound them out. Section 1 uses Phase 2 to 4 sounds; section 2 the Phase 5 spellings and two-syllable words. There are two practice sets of forty words, and a score sheet for the teacher with a tick and a cross column for every word and the totals.
