Build the Sentence
Short sentences to cut out and put in order, copy, draw or punctuate.
First sentences, several ways. Cut and glue: the words of each sentence on tiles to cut out and glue in order, then a line to copy the whole sentence. Put in order: the same jumble without scissors, written out in order. Read and copy, read and draw, or add the missing full stop, question mark or exclamation mark. The capital letter stays on the first word and the full stop on the last, the clues a young reader learns to use. Type the sentences in the book's language; a picture of something the sentence names can go beside it. Writing lines follow the class's handwriting: print, school cursive, capitals, or read in print and write in cursive.
