Story Prompt
A writing prompt with a picture to start from and ruled lines to fill.
A prompt at the top, a picture underneath it and lines to write on. The picture is the point: a child asked to write about nothing has to invent a subject before they can write a word, and one asked to write about a dragon can simply start. Pick a picture yourself or let a theme choose one, so the same page in a book of ten never comes out the same twice. Turn the planning box on and three questions get answered before the writing starts, which is usually the difference between four lines and one.
