Dot to Dot
Numbered dots that turn into a picture when they are joined up.
A picture reduced to numbered dots around its outline. The counting rule turns the same page into different practice: ones for a beginner, twos, fives or tens for a child working on skip counting, or letters for alphabet order. Interior detail — an eye, a fin, a window — can be left in place so the finished drawing looks like something, and the whole picture can be shown faintly for a child who needs the reassurance.
