Copy the Picture

A picture in a lettered grid, an empty grid beside it, and one square at a time.

The picture is drawn inside a numbered grid and an identical empty grid waits next to it. Copying square by square turns an impossible drawing into a dozen easy ones, and it is the standard way art is taught to scale up a reference. Fewer squares makes each one harder to judge; more squares makes the copy closer but the page busier. The row and column labels give a child a way to say where they are and to check they have not skipped a square, and a worked example or two shows what "copy this square" actually means before they start.
