Rounding
Round to the nearest 10, 100 or 1000 on number lines and rounding hills, in a table, then estimate a sum.
Rounding the way it is taught: the number sits on a number line between two round numbers, and the child rings the one it is nearer to and writes it down; or it sits on a rounding hill, where a number before the top rolls back and the middle and after roll on. A table page rounds each number to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand side by side. The estimate page rounds both numbers of a sum or a difference, works out the round one first, then the exact one, so the child sees why rounding is useful. Numbers go up to 100, 1000, 10 000 or a million, printed the way the book's language prints them.
