Number Bonds
Part-part-whole: bond circles, ten-frames and bar models, with numbers left out.
The same idea in three pictures. Bond circles put the whole on top and its two parts below, joined by lines. Ten-frames show the whole as counters in a two-by-five frame, filled for one part and outlined for the other, so the split is something a child can see and count. Bar models draw the whole as one bar and the parts as two bars underneath, which is the picture that carries on working when the numbers get big. Choose which number is missing — a part, the whole, or both parts — and the answer key fills in exactly the gaps the page left.
