Syllable Family
pa pe pi po pu: read and trace a syllable family, complete words, join syllables to pictures.
The syllable-family sheet of a first reading year in Portugal, Brazil, Spain and Italy, in seven shapes: the whole sheet (read the family, trace it, complete words), the family to read and trace, words to complete with a syllable from the box, the missing syllable to ring, syllables to join to their pictures, pictures to ring because their name has a syllable of the family, and words to read and copy that use only the letters the class already knows. Write the family as a consonant (p, lh, qu, pr, ç), a reading case (ce-ci, ge-gi, al-el, ar-er) or the syllables themselves (pa pe pi po pu pão). Pictures are chosen by what they are called in the book's language and kept only when the family syllable really is one of the word's syllables, so sapato is a pa picture and pássaro is not. Handwriting can be print, the school cursive of the book's language, both, or capitals.
