Word Search
Hide a spelling list in a grid of letters, from straight-lines-only to backwards diagonals.
A classic letter grid with the words hidden in it. Pick a word bank or paste your own spelling list, and the grid sizes itself to the words unless you say otherwise. Difficulty is a real change, not a label: the easiest setting hides words only left-to-right and top-to-bottom, the hardest allows all eight directions including backwards. For children who cannot yet cope with a full grid, turn the filler letters off and the words sit alone in the squares, which turns the page into a gentle spotting activity. The word list can print below the grid, beside it, or not at all.
